How To Be Envied at Coachella

My friends think I am insane for not listening to music. Its no that I am opposed to music, but the farthest my efforts go of listening to it is opening my ears to whatever my mom has playing in the car. I have been wanting to change and explore the world of music, so I am starting with baby steps by doing a music festival fashion guide. This is the best opportunity to explore the freedom of fashion and wear the clothes you have stuffed in the back of your closet. (click on the photos to go straight to the website and purchase it)

Flower Crowns
Urban Outfitters $16
Let's be honest you have to be pretty confident to rock a flower crown on a day to day basis, but these festivals are great opportunities for you to wear those endless DIY flower crowns you made a couple years back(don't lie to yourself).

Spring Shoe Trends

March 20, the first day of spring, the birds are chirping the flowers are blooming, WAIT..WHAT IT'S SNOWING! Yep that is how we kicked off spring in New York, a snow storm, but I have closed all the binds and am pretending that it is beautiful and warm outside so I can complete this blog post without denial. If you are lucky enough to already have the warm weather or are also suffering from an extensive winter, you can rock these hot spring shoe trends sooner or later. As you know from my title this blog post is about the new shoe trends, but if you want to see what colors, patterns, and dress style to wear for spring, check out my previous blog post.

Woven Shoes
Of course you don't have to go this bold with the colors, but woven shoes are great for both casual and fancier events. They are especially practical for the spring & even summer allowing your feet to breath through the holes in the woven pattern.

Spring Trends

If you live on the east coast like me we can all agree this winter was BRUTAL! I am so over this cold weather and ready for the warm sunny days, so in order to kick in the new season in style here are some upcoming trends.(luckily they embrace comfort & style)

T-Shirt Dress

This trend has been around for a little while now, but it is here to stay this comfy & cute outfit is so easy & versatile. This piece's effortlessness also adds an edgy vibe. Pair these with some cute thigh high socks, a bold lip, half-up bun style, cool rings, and chunky boots.

Colors

From the spontaneous yellow, to cool blue, to the staples, black & white, this spring season has it all. If I am being perfectly honest I do not own a single piece of yellow clothing or jewelry, but seeing this color more and more I am sure it will soon make an appearance in my closet. Mustard yellow was great for fall & winter, but in the spring a fun pop of the bright canary yellow color will add a little quirkiness & maybe even a smile. My only tip for you is less is more when using this color. Try it in either  a nice spring dress or as an accent. On the opposite end of the spectrum black & white. Black & white has been done throughout winter & seems to be carrying its way to spring, but one that is more bright and clean is head-to-toe white. If yellow is too peppy & black & white is too stark go for a nice blue & white another big staple this spring.

Gingham

While plaid was all the rage in fall gingham is taking its place for spring. Gingham can be worn in an arrange of ways from girly to edgy. For a girlier look try to wear this fun print on skirts or dresses. For an edgier look try gingham printed pants. If you are somewhere in between wear gingham printed shirt or jacket.

There are tons of other spring trends out there, but these were just a few. I hope you enjoyed and try to rock some of these styles!

XOXO,
KD

What To Do With Your Old Magazines?

No matter what I do I can not bring myself to throw out my fashion magazines. Over the February Break I cleaned out my room by donating, throwing out, and organizing everything, I was surprised at how much I could let go , but the one thing left is a giant stack of Vogue, Instyle, & Teen Vogue, which I can not seem to part with. If you face the same dilemmas I do I have some great DIYs on how to recycle your old magazines and convince yourself they are worth keeping.
